Rudolph Hartman

Rudolph Hartman
Cabinet card was found in Columbia, Missouri. It is in good condition and is thicker than most cabinet cards. The thickness of the card helps date the photo to after 1900. Portrait was taken at Orton Studios in Lancaster, Wisconsin. The bottom of the card is labeled “Rudolph Hartmann, six years old”.
The 1920 census list a Rudolph Hartman, born in Wisconsin, age sixteen, living with mother Barbara (widow) in Lancaster, Grant County, Wisconsin. The place, age and date of this Rudolph is correct for the photo. The 1910 census from Waterloo, Grant County, Wisconsin includes Rudolph, his mother Barbara and father Thomas. 1900 census does not list Rudolph with his parents; he was born about 1904, but does list his brother Jacob and sister Cora. Moving forward to the 1930 census Rudolph is living in Bern, Kansas and his occupation is Baptist minister. The age, name, place of birth and place of birth of parents are all correct. I believe the 1930 Rudolph is the same Rudolph, son of Barbara and Thomas Hartman. The following is a clip from the Iowa Recorder in Greene, Iowa states the following:

Rudolph Hartman
