Cabinet card photo of Fidus Livermore was found in Jefferson City, Missouri. The photo is in good condition with some wear on the corner and spotting. The back is labeled “Brother-Fidus Livermore”; the photo was taken in Jackson, Michigan at J.M. LeClear’s photography. The cabinet card is mounted on dark green stock which helps to date the photo to the 1880’s. The subject looks to be in his twenties, which would place time of birth about 1860.
1860 census from Jackson, Michigan includes a Fidus Livermore age eleven months. Fidus is living with his father Fidus Sr., mother Sarah and brother George. According to the Michigan death records Fidus Sr. died May 28, 1880. The 1880 census from Jackson, Michigan list Sarah as widow. Sarah is living with son Fidus Jr. (subject of the photo) and sister Jessie. Fidus married Francis Brown on November 19, 1890. Sarah Fidus nee Lewis died Nov 24, 1900 and is buried in Mt. Evergreen cemetery in Jackson, Michigan. Fidus died August 30, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan and is buried in Jackson, Michigan.
