Card photograph was found in Jefferson City, Missouri and is in poor to fair condition. There is some spotting on the photo, the photo part is starting to lift up in some spots and there is a good amount of discoloration around the edge of the card. However, the details of the portrait are still clear. The photograph was made at Genelli’s in St. Louis, Missouri. The back of the card is labeled in blue ink “Sophie Rode Clounts”.

A search of the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census records have not matched any Sophie, Sophia, Rode, Road, Rhode(s), Clounts, Clonce, Clonts, Clountz. A search of all Sophia and Sophie’s in the St. Louis area turn up nothing, Missouri marriages were also searched. There are very few families with the name of Rode or Clounts. It seems likely the name is Rhode and Clountz or Clonts. It is possible Rode was Sophie’s middle name or it could have been a maiden name.
