A. Hughes
Cabinet card was found in Sedalia, Missouri. The photographer mark list Fritz, Parisian finish, Sedalia, Mo and Quincy, IL. The features of the card suggest it was taken between 1885-1895. The back of the photo is labeled “A. Hughes, Lamonte, Missouri”. The front of the card is in good condition but the back has in blue crayon numbers and as,is,is. I am not sure what the writing is about. A search of the 1900 census does not give any clues to the subject of the card. A. Hughes could be a maiden name or could be the married name of the subject. There are many Hughes families in the Pettis County, Missouri area, including those in my own personal genealogy data base. I do have an Amanda Hughes in my data base but she is too old for the date of this portrait.
